Sign ups are open! They'll stay open until July 20 at 11:59 PM, MST. Remix madness sign ups will begin on July 19.
 

A few reminders:

• To sign up, you must have a minimum of three (3) 500-word fics, a minimum of five (5) 100-word fics, or a minimum of three (3) drawings in each requested fandom. Your qualifying fic/art should already be at the URL you provide when you sign up.
• You may include up to 20 fandoms per request; it is not necessary to have more than one request unless you have a reason for splitting your offers (like you want to receive fic for some fandoms but would prefer art for other fandoms).
• You may leave the text box blank if you don't have any safe works/previous remixes.
  
• If you're a writer, you want to choose Fic Remixed As Fic and/or Fic Remixed As Art, depending on your preferences. If you're an artist, you want to choose Art Remixed As Art and/or Art Remixed As Fic. If you have enough qualifying fic AND art in your requested fandoms, you can do both. If you have fic and art in different fandoms, or want to request different things in different fandoms, you can add a second request.
• The URL you include for your work MUST be easily navigated by fandom. This means you must either link to your AO3 dashboard/works page, OR an index elsewhere that has your works sorted by fandom. Unless you have only/primarily written/drawn in a single fandom, you should NOT link to a general fic/art tag on your tumblr. The reason for this is that while your remixer can do something in a different fandom than you matched on, they must still be able to easily find your works in the fandom you matched on.
• You are limited to 3 individual safe works, 1 safe series, and/or 1 safe fandom per signup (not per request). Safe fandoms may be an umbrella fandom or "all media types" fandom.
• All fandoms in your request must be AO3 canonical tags. Whenever possible, choose the most unique version of your fandom (i.e., "Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)" instead of "Marvel Cinematic Universe.")

I've got some fics that are currently part of an unrevealed collection -- I'd like to designate one of them as a safe work, but I don't want to de-anon myself before author reveals. Should I just wait to sign up until afterward?

eta: what is the procedure for offering a fandom that slots under an umbrella tag (with other unrelated works)? I know the request must be canonical, but does the same apply to offers?

You can certainly wait if you want - the other option is to sign up and edit in your unrevealed work later. Sign ups are editable until they close on July 20.

Yep, offers have to be canonical as well. This is because of how AO3 challenges work when you don't use a fandom tagset. I would suggest choosing the more specific version, since that's what requests will be doing.

Sorry, I wasn't super clear with my last question. The fandom I'd like to offer is a podcast which AO3 doesn't class as its own fandom -- tagging [fandom name] will automatically redirect to a larger parent tag (in this case, Shadowrun RPG). If I can't offer that, I totally understand, I just wanted to check and clarify.

Hm, in that case I would advise you to offer the parent tag. AO3 literally won't accept a non-canonical tag in your sign up, so the best option might be to default to the parent tag for the purposes of the sign up form. Whoever you might be matched with that requests that fandom will have to do the same thing.

What's the name of the podcast? I can put up a short note here on the DW to notify any potential requesters that they'll need to use the Shadowrun RPG tag.

There's actually two that fall under similar situations -- the podcast I was referring to is Neoscum, which redirects to Shadowrun as the fandom tag, and I'm also interested in offering Fake AH Crew, which redirects to Rooster Teeth/Achievement Hunter RPF. Thanks so much for your time!

What's the policy on remixing WIPs or offering them up for remix when signing up?

So a work in progress doesn't count as a qualifying work, meaning it can't be included in the minimum number of works to make a fandom eligible to be requested.

It's also not technically allowed as a remixable work in the rules; however, if you want to include a note in your sign up saying that you're open to having a WIP remixed, you're welcome to do so. You're also welcome to include it as an option in your sign up for Madness, if you're doing that.

Basically, if you as the author are okay with it, you're allowed to make an exception in your sign up if you want. But it has to be explicitly stated in your sign up, and as a writer (or artist/creator), you're not allowed to remix a WIP unless your recipient has done so.

No worries. Because it's a prompt meme and not an exchange, it has a feature called "membership" where you can "join" the challenge. Sign ups are currently closed though, as you can't submit any prompts. You (or anyone else) are welcome to join in the meantime though!
