Signups for Remix Revival 2018 are now closed! I will now begin checking everyone's requests to make sure that:

1. The URL you have provided works;
2. You have enough works to be remixed in each fandom you have requested;
3. You have not gone over the minimum number of safe works;
4. You have not included any text intended to discourage your remixer from remixing anything they may “legally” remix, or that attempts to tell your remixer how they should/should not remix your works;
5. You have not included any potentially confusing information, such as links to your fics that have been remixed for other remix exchanges. [ETA: The link that is supposed to be there is the one to previous remixes you are the creator of, not to works of yours that other people have remixed.]

In most cases except for too many safe works or a broken link, I should be able to correct the issue myself without contacting you; however, in the case of those two issues, I will most likely have to email you for help/clarification. I record all changes I make to the signups, so feel free to ask for clarification in the event that yours changes and you don't know why.

Once I am sure everyone's requests are correct, I will run the matching script. At this time, if your offers do not match anyone's requests, and you have not offered any umbrella fandoms, I will email you to ask you to add to your offers. You will then have the choice of adding to your offers or dropping out of the exchange. (If your offers do not match anyone's requests and you have offered an umbrella fandom, I will automatically change your offer to one of the fandoms beneath the umbrella to get you matched to someone.)

As long as you match to at least one person, you will not be asked to add to your offers. (If your requests don't match to anyone's offers, don't worry! You'll just be an initial pinch hit, along with people who did have a match, but whose potential remixer(s) got assigned to someone else by the AO3 script first.)

Please make sure you are checking the email associated with your AO3 account, especially if you are offering all small fandoms or otherwise suspect that you did not match to anyone’s requests. If I have to email you for any issue, you will have 24 hours to respond; if I do not hear from you in that time, I will have to delete your signup.

Barring any issues on AO3's end, assignments should be out by Sunday, August 5.

Signups for Remix Madness will open tomorrow morning (Monday, July 30). Both collections will open for posting once assignments have gone out for the main exchange.

You have not included any potentially confusing information, such as links to your fics that have been remixed for other remix exchanges.

I did this in the belief that this info would make my sign-up less confusing for my assigned writer, since otherwise they might be confused by the presence of fics tagged "Previously Remixed" on my AO3 account.

I did this because the sign-up form told me to. I wasn't going to, but one of the fields had a label saying "this is where you put links to previous remixes".

Not the mod, but to my understanding that is intended for links to remixes you wrote, not stories you wrote that were remixed by others. (Because according to the rules, remixes of others' works are ineligible for remixing, and so these ineligible stories should be indicated somehow.)

The link is supposed to be to remixes you are the creator of, not works of yours that have been remixed by someone else. This is a frequent point of confusion, as I have not yet managed to phrase it so that it's clear to everyone what is meant. So I remove links to works that have previously been remixed so that the assigned remixer won't think they're barred from remixing works that have already been remixed.

Oh, okay. In that case, I understood the form correctly but misread this post: the link I included in my sign-up is to a remix I created of somebody else's work. Apologies for contributing to the confusion.

That point refers to sign ups where people think they're supposed to link to fics that have been remixed rather than remixes they have written. I'll take the context of your link into account when I get that far. :)

ETA: I just got to the J's in my check and I thought I'd pop back in to tell you that what you have in your request re: your fics that have already been remixed is perfectly fine, and I'll be leaving it as-is.
