Remix Madness Open

Hey guys, Remix Madness is now open for prompts! Apologies for the delay, real life has been getting in the way frequently lately.

Madness will stay open for prompts and fills throughout the rest of the exchange, until both collections are revealed in October.

A few refresher rules:

• No rules on what you can submit for remixing in Madness. There are no minimum requirements for fandoms, and you can list WIPs or crossovers.
• IF YOU WANT A COLLABORATION TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR REMIXING: All creators involved in the creation of the work must be signed up for Madness, and give permission for that work to be remixed.
• You don't have to be signed up for the main Remix round to participate in Madness.
• No requirements as far as works go - create whatever you like, long or short!
• You can mark as many works/fandoms safe as you'd like for Madness. You're also free to put whatever requests you'd like in your sign up, such as "please don't remix any of my Kirk/Spock fics," or "I only want x, y, and z to be remixed".
• WIPs, collaborations, and crossovers are OPT-IN. That means if you wish to remix one of these for someone else, they must indicate on their prompt that they are okay with it.
• No WIPs allowed. Whatever you create must be complete, for both Madness and the main Remix round.

Are crossovers not allowable to be remixed in the main event? I understand that they don't count toward the minimum for signups, but can I choose to remix one of my assignment person's crossovers, or not?

You can remix anything that's not a collaboration with someone else (because that other person hasn't agreed to have their work remixed), a WIP (unless your recip indicates that's alright), and anything marked as safe. So if the crossover doesn't fall under one of those categories then yes you're good to go. Apologies if the rules are unclear!

hello! i think this is implied/i think this is what i remember from previous years, but just checking that if i put my fics up to be remixed for remix madness, i'm not then required to post a fic for remix madness. i may do so - but equally, i may not.

Correct! It's prompt based which means there's no obligation. People can claim your prompt to create their own remix but it's not a guarantee, and you may claim as many as you like, and create as many remixes as you like, no minimum or maximum.
