Two weeks out
Aug. 26th, 2018 09:54 amAll the current pinch hits have now been claimed! Thanks, everyone! :D
We're also two weeks out from the assignment deadline, so here are some reminders:
1. Remix Madness is ongoing until September 24! Anyone can play, whether you participated in the main exchange or not. Madness is the free-for-all version of remix: you choose who you want to remix, and you can remix as many people as you want! There is no word/size minimum and you do not have to opt in to be remixed in order to remix other people.
(The rest of these are about things to do/not do when posting your remix.)
2. When posting your remix to AO3 in either collection, please post as a DRAFT first to make sure your work is currently anonymous. If you post a draft and it says "Anonymous [YOUR NAME]" above your work, you are fine to post it. If it only says "YOUR NAME," either poke me to fix it (remixrevivalmod AT gmail), or delete the first draft and post a new one. As a reminder, drafts do NOT count as fulfilling your assignment, so please make sure you post your remix properly after checking it. (Depending on the page you're viewing your work from, there will be a button beneath the work saying "Post," "Post Draft," or "Post Without Preview." Click that button and you're good to go.) If your posted remix doesn't show up in the collection right away, this is not a bug and you shouldn't worry: I'm moderating both collections this year in order to double-check anonymity from my end.
3. Remixes must link to the work they were based on. This is a critical part of this exchange; as your remix is based off someone else's work, they deserve to be credited. In some cases, it may also be difficult for the original creator to tell which work has been remixed without a link back. You may provide a link via your author’s notes or through the AO3 interface. To do the latter, simply check off "This work is a remix, a translation, a podfic, or was inspired by another work" and insert the URL of the original.
4. Remixes are supposed to be anonymous until September 23 for the main exchange and September 24 for the madness exchange - so please don't include a link to your tumblr/twitter/etc in your author's notes until then. Additionally, please do not link to your remix from your tumblr/dreamwidth/etc, or add it to an AO3 series until after creator reveals (as there is a bug with series where they show up on your dashboard even if all works in them are currently anon).
